Just starting out... (posted by Amy, pre-engagement)

I figure the first post on a blog should be the introductory one; so, this is it. Welcome to my blog! I had one that never got off the ground, "Partners in Crime", but Todd has taken over that space with his expanding network of blogs (www.toddbrew.com). This is the new one. The theory is the same; it's like Gauguin sort-of said: who are we, where have we come from, where are we going. Of course, his comment was in french & therefore cooler... not to mention, first.

Todd & I are in Boston now, but we've lived all over (speaking in a very limited, not-worldly way): Amherst and Northampton MA; a few places in Japan (Todd); Austin TX (Amy); Stamford and Greenwich CT. We've lived apart and together for more than 14 years! I can barely believe it myself.

I'm an archivist. I have what I consider to be a perfect job for me working at the special collections library in one of the noteable Boston academic institutions... I'll never tell which one :) We moved up to Boston from CT for an excellent opportunity for Todd, but it has worked out just as well for me. Work-wise and in most other things, we've never been happier!
